Asia-Pacific (APAC) is the fastest growing region in the world. The trade relations between Switzerland and the region are not only strong but steadily increasing. The presence of Swiss companies in the region is also growing. In light of this, the Swiss Chambers of Commerce (SwissChams) in APAC have started an events collaboration. This includes 10 SwissChams in the APAC region and the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce in Switzerland, with roughly 2000 corporate members.
The first step towards deepening these relations is to take place in the context of a new series of events on the topic of sustainability, one of two key thematic focus areas contained in Switzerland's Foreign Economic Policy Strategy. The series presents a great opportunity for Swiss companies to showcase solutions and technologies contributing to sustainable growth as well as their regional CSR-approaches.
After growth was slowed by the pandemic, it is now time to reignite it, embrace the future and position Swiss companies as valuable partners in the region. This will only be possible via a strong "Team Switzerland" approach, in which the Swiss private sector will work hand in hand with our government and the chambers. The spark and reach of our collaboration will be demonstrated at the 4 events to be held in 2022.
The inaugural event will focus on what Swiss companies have already achieved and what can be emulated and scaled by other players in APAC. The target audience are business leaders from the SwissCham Network APAC, SACC and beyond, as well as governmental stakeholders in APAC and Switzerland.
Episode 1: Showcasing Swiss Companies' Sustainability Efforts in APAC
Sustainability can affect almost every aspect of modern life and business. In business and administration, many companies are taking voluntary measures to act more sustainably in everyday life. In this way, we can benefit from each other and learn from best practices that can be implemented in our everyday work and have been perfected over the years. Every day, new ideas are born and visions can be shared.
