"Investing in Human Capital – The Rapture of Doing Right"

In his lecture with audiovisual support, Hannes Schmid takes the audience on an amazing journey to the Campus of his NGO Smiling Gecko, north of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Smiling Gecko ​offers education, training, and regular income opportunities to local communities. This project is driven by the core belief that education and investments in human capital are key to sustainable development. Mr. Schmid is a social entrepreneur and an internationally recognized photo artist since his staging of the iconic Marlboro Man. Since 2012, he has been involved in humanitarian and development work in Cambodia.
