The Phillippine Swiss Business Council (PSBC) cordially invites the members of the STCC to join their online General Membership Meeting on November 10 from 07-09 am Bangkok Time.
The Keynote speach will be given by global authority in Psychometrics and Research, Leadership and Change, Dr. Joe Folkman, will speak on “Extraordinary Leaders During Extraordinary Times”.
On the occasion of the visit of the President of the Swiss Council of States, H.E. Alex Kuprecht to Thailand, the STCC was pleased to present our offices to the Swiss delegation and to discuss Swiss-Thai economic relations at the subsequent dinner at the residence of Ambassador Helene Budliger Artieda.
Initiated by Bruno Odermatt and supported by ambassador Mrs. Helene Budliger Artieda, the Swiss Thai Chamber of commerce had the chance to locate their new office on the Swiss embassy compound in Bangkok.
The perfect location was found between the main embassy building, designed by architect Hans Hofmann and Roland Vogel in 1957, and a smaller office/apartment bungalow. The new office is embedded in the existing garden close to the car parking spaces, surrounded by existing trees.
The World Bank recently launched a monthly economic monitor for Thailand, which is published every third week of the month.
The October Issue of the Economic Monitor can be accessed here
Under the Thai Foreign Business Act (“FBA”), A.D. 1999, foreigners who engage in certain business sectors, including any service business, require a Foreign Business License (“FBL”) to operate legally. However, under the new Ministerial Regulation of the Ministry of Commerce, a Regional Office is not considered a restricted business under the Foreign Business Act (FBA). Therefore, regional offices do not need to apply for a foreign business license to operate in Thailand.
"Best known internationally for building the new Silent 60 for the fast-growing Silent-Yachts, the PMG Shipyard in Thailand owned by Philippe Guenat also produces its own solar-assisted Heliotrope powercats as well as custom builds in a spectacular two-hectare beachfront facility that’s now also equipped for catamaran refits."
What is the story behind this largest privately Swiss owned yacht yard in SEA?
As the number of cases increased in Thailand, the demand for COVID-19 testing also escalated. Hospitals located in city centers were strained as they tried to cater to the increased demand for testing. Healthcare officials were also seeking out more effective ways to extend testing facilities to residents living in remote areas and difficult to reach places.
Read here how DKSH proceeded to supply and install the modular COVID-19 testing booths in remote locations.
